International Vedic Wisdom ("IVW," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to make our website, www.internationalvedicwisdom.com], accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website. Our goal is to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, a set of guidelines developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) that details how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user-friendly for all people.

While we strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility, it may not always be possible to do so in all areas of the website, particularly concerning third-party content or integrations. We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall web accessibility.

International Vedic Wisdom takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Design: Incorporating accessibility principles into our website design, including considerations for color contrast and logical layout.

  • Content: Aiming to provide text alternatives (alt text) for non-text content like images. Working towards providing captions and/or transcripts for video content (such as guided meditations and tutorials). Structuring content using appropriate headings and lists.

  • Navigation: Ensuring the website can be navigated logically using a keyboard.

  • Technology: Building and maintaining the website using code compliant with W3C standards for HTML and CSS.

  • Testing: Periodically reviewing our website using accessibility evaluation tools and user feedback (primarily through self-evaluation at this stage).

  • Training: Providing awareness or training for staff involved in content creation and website maintenance regarding accessibility principles.

Technical Specifications

Accessibility of the IVW website relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • WAI-ARIA

  • JavaScript

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Compatibility with Browsers and Assistive Technology

We also strive to ensure compatibility with common assistive technologies like screen readers (e.g., NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver), screen magnifiers, and speech recognition software.   • Third-Party Content/Plugins: Some integrated third-party content or plugins (e.g., payment gateways, social media feeds, embedded videos from external sources) may not be fully accessible, as this is outside our direct control. We encourage vendors to provide accessible solutions.

  • Older Content: Some older archived content or videos may not have full captions or transcripts yet. We are working to improve this over time. Please contact us if you need specific content in an alternative format.

  • Complex Concepts: The nature of Vedic sciences sometimes involves complex terminology or concepts. We strive for clarity but welcome feedback on areas that could be explained more simply.
